Building a Word Bearers Anointed Terminator Squad

After nearly two months of inactivity, getting back on the proverbial hobby horse was a challenge but a welcome one. Taking a break from the hobby kinda recharged me and I was psyched up to resume work on my Word Bearers army. So much so that I finished assembling a whole terminator squad in just half-a-day which is a record for me. So now, despite the Skyrim arrow still being firmly lodged in my knee, I am now at least back to hobbying again.

Why did the Anointed cross the road? To wipe the smirk off a warrior of Guilliman. What up!

A more detailed look at the Anointed
Termie (right) has a mutated arm cause I haven't figured what weapon to choose ... so it's a proxy for something or other

Other Word Bearers stuff
Other Word Bearers army related work that I manage to work on was to paint on the Scab Red basecoat for parts of the cultists. I tried to vary the placing of the red colour scheme so as to not overwhelm the minis with too much red as well as to imbue them with some variety.

Meanwhile, work on Cyrene Valantion has stalled a bit as I am a bit scared to embark on the next stage of the painting i.e. the mid-tones. Thus far, Cyrene has only been basecoated and given a wash. Still working up the courage to attempt the mid-tones for fear of messing up.

Work in progress for the Blessed Lady
Hopefully I will have more progress pictures in the coming weeks. Thanks for reading!

  1. Have fun painting those termi man, actually based on your pic I would say your termi are gear toward assault oriented(combi melta, combi flamer, power fist), if this is the case, why don't you consider to drop Reaper Autocannon and go for heavy flamer instead?

ps: I want to play skyrim so bad, that Serana vampire chick just become my follower and now I'm stuck between project and painting =p

    1. But it's already glued on ... the Reaper Autocannon that is ... and it also looks way more cooler to paint. XD Heh heh Thanks for the tip Limp (keep em coming). What you say makes an awful lot of sense but unfortunately I will be making more of these noob mistakes in the future. If I were to properly read and understand the rules before assembling my army ... they would never get done.

Skyrim is awesome ... my game time for it has breached 83 hours. My follower is Lydia, the house carl from Whiterun. Boring I know.

    1. Snake88 you are way too kind. Hopefully I will do the Anointed justice with my painting. Word Bearers are my fav Chaos faction too. I haven't read any Night Lords books yet so Word Bearers are still the coolest for me.

    2. IMHO, unseal those Night Lord trilogy by ADB and read it, you *will* want to spray your painted army black and color them in Midnight clad =P

    1. I can't say no to Skyrim O_O

Yeah ... I have to find a way to strike a balance. Just got Rocksmith to hook up to an acoustic guitar with a pickup. That software is another potential anti-hobby time sink. Sigh.
